Player Safety Guide
KEEP THE RESISTANCE STRONG - RESPECT OTHERS
The Resistance against Lucky will only work if we work together!
-
Be nice to each other - treat other recruits like you would want to be treated
-
Be careful with what you say - don’t offend other recruits. The Resistance doesn’t tolerate any bullying, inappropriate, hateful or bad language.
-
Be wholesome - Lucky has polluted Aethasia enough, don’t make it worse with filthy language!
What to expect:
-
The Aetherlight™ uses filters to block inappropriate chat.
-
Our filters work on a reputation basis - break the rules, and your chat will become restricted.
-
Moderators will suspend or ban recruits found to be repeatedly breaking the rules
KEEP YOUR IDENTITY SECRET
Lucky is hunting down Resistance members, so stay undercover!
-
Don’t give out any personal information online or in Aethasia, including your real name, age, address, school, or your phone number.
-
Do not ask another recruit for any personal information.
-
Don’t share your password with friends or strangers (your parents are fine though!)
LOOK OUT FOR INFILTRATORS!
Sometimes there are recruits who break the rules. Here’s what to do:
-
If you feel uncomfortable with another recruits behaviour in game, right click on them to report them to a moderator or choose to ignore/block them.
What to expect:
-
We have moderators who review all reported users and take necessary action
-
Chat logs are reviewed to ensure all players are safe
Safety Tips for Parents
We are committed to ensuring your child has a safe playing experience. Here are some tips to ensure your child stays safe!
ENGAGE WITH THEIR PLAY
Aethasia is designed to be experienced together!
-
The very best way to ensure your child’s safety is to play along with them. Feel free to create an account for yourself to play alongside your child.
-
Ask your child questions about what they are doing online. Make sure you are aware of what sites they are visiting, and what they are saying in public spaces.
BE PROACTIVE
The best defence is a good offense!
-
We suggest using internet filters to ensure peace of mind for your child’s browsing. Note: you may need to whitelist certain URLs to allow The Aetherlight to work.
-
Set guidelines about where you allow your child to play. We suggest not allowing your child to use a connected device in private areas of the house, like bathrooms or bedrooms.
-
Set limits on how long you allow your child to use connected devices for. We have designed the Resistance Academy to encourage players to put their game learnings into action in the real world. As a parent, you can play a big part in their real world quests.
KEEP THE CONVERSATION ALIVE
Talking about online safety is not a single event.
-
Make sure you regularly dialogue with your child about online safety.
-
Keep discussing their game experiences with them, including other player’s behaviour. Encourage your child to report any unwanted behaviour. You can also create a support ticket here if you have concerns you wish to see addressed by our moderation team.
